PGA Tour – Wyndham Championship Field Update

Former UNLV Rebels, Chad Campbell and Bill Lunde.

Although it’s not likely, it’s not impossible for UNLV to catch Oklahoma State this weekend to finish the regular season atop the Rivals Cup rankings. Although they don’t really have anyone near the 36-hole lead in Greensboro,  3 former Rebels are playing the weekend while only one Cowboy made the cut. They’ll need a win and at least one top 5 to do it, but it’s not impossible.

Arizona State is in position to clip Georgia Tech for the #3 ranking and New Mexico has a legitimate chance to finish the regular season inside the top 10 with 3 former Lobo’s playing the weekend.

On the conference side of the competition, the ACC has built a huge lead in the rankings, and they lead the weekend with cuts made again. Not much drama here at the top, but there is a close race for 2nd between the SEC and the Big 12. The two are only separated by 399 points, but the Big 12 will have to do more with less this weekend as they trail the SEC in cuts made.

Weekend at the Wyndham:

T4 Clemson 2 T3 SEC 7
